Lymington Rib Charter
Located on the Lymington River west bank is Lymington - Hampshire, a port in the New Forest District of the county of Hampshire. The population is approximately fourteen thousand.
On the main High Street, a market opens every Saturday. At the market, people can purchase produce which has been grown locally. And there are quaint and clever craft items also made by the local people, as well. There are also household items, which is typical of southern England. You can actually find everything you will need for the entire season, and indeed for the year.
Lymington used to have a rather infamous reputation for smuggling, as it was a very busy port, built on an estuary, in about the 1800s. And there are nearby salt marshes, which have produced about 4,000 tons of salt.
With three marinas, it has a major yachting center with many yachting activities. And the tourist population centers around the New Forest area, where they will find more hotels and restaurants, and also at the harbour. This area has many shops for yachters and other tourists who visit there, too.
Some visitors arrive via boats at Town Quay or by the local yachtsmen to this Georgian town. Visitors come by car, or train, or coach. There are many pubs and restaurants to visit. Known as the Donkey Town, Pennington has a cricket club and football, as well. It has two public houses, a fish and chip shop, and a chemist, as well as a barber shop for men. A short walk over a stream and along a road called the Bunny Run gets you to Lymington Town Center. There are also camp grounds, bed and breakfast accommodations, events, and fine hotels in nearby New Forest.
A car ferry connects it to the Isle of Wight. These ferries run all year round. And there are also river boat trips from the town Quay. Lymington - Hampshire is a wonderful little resort town to visit.
